How to set a home page on Android

Unlike on iPhone, the two most common Android browsers, Chrome and Samsung Internet, both have a homepage setting. We use OnePane's address, https://onepane.page/app/, but any address works. Menu names can differ slightly between phone makers.

Quick answer (Chrome): tap ⋮ → Settings → Homepage, turn it on, choose Enter custom web address and paste the address. Tap the house icon to open it.

Chrome

Open Chrome and tap ⋮ at the top right → Settings.
Tap Homepage (under Advanced on some phones).
Turn it On, choose Enter custom web address, and paste the address.
Go back. A house icon appears next to the address bar; tap it to open your page.

Chrome on Android reopens your last tabs instead of the homepage, so tap the house when you want your page. If you don't see Homepage in settings, your phone maker or Chrome version may have hidden it; use the home screen shortcut below instead.

Samsung Internet

Tap ☰ (the menu at the bottom right) → Settings.
Tap Homepage (in some versions under Browsing or Layout and menus).
Choose Custom page, paste the address, and tap Done.

Firefox

Firefox for Android doesn't let you set a custom homepage address. You can add the page as a shortcut on Firefox's home screen: open it, tap ⋮ → Add to shortcuts.

Add it to your home screen (any browser)

Open the page in Chrome.
Tap ⋮ → Add to Home screen (sometimes Install app).
Tap Install or Add, then drag the icon where you want it.

The icon opens your page directly, like an app. Many people like this better than a browser homepage on a phone.
