How to set a home page on iPhone and iPad
Safari and Chrome on iPhone and iPad don't have a homepage setting. You can still put your page one tap away, in three ways. We use OnePane's address, https://onepane.page/app/, but any address works.
1. Add it to your Home Screen (best)
- Open the page in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow). On iPhone it's at the bottom; on iPad, at the top. If you don't see it, tap ⋯ first.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Leave Open as Web App on if you see it, rename the icon if you like, and tap Add.
The icon opens your page full-screen, without Safari's address bar, like an app. You can move it to your Dock so it's always there.
2. Show it on every new tab
- Open the page in Safari and tap Share → Add to Favorites.
- Open a new tab. Your Favorites appear on Safari's Start Page.
- If they don't, scroll to the bottom of the new tab, tap Edit, and turn on Favorites. Drag it to the top.
3. Chrome on iPhone
Chrome on iPhone has no homepage either. Tap Share in the address bar → Add to Home Screen for an icon, or ⋯ → Add to Bookmarks. Chrome's new tab page shows your most-visited sites, so a page you use daily soon appears there on its own.
Bonus: make it the first thing you see
- Put the Home Screen icon on your first page or in the Dock.
- Ask Siri: say “open OnePane” (or whatever you named the icon).
- Using the same page on your computer? Setting it as your Safari homepage on the Mac keeps everything in step.
